Should I use MT4 or MT5 with GBH Markets?
If you primarily trade Forex and already have MQL4 Expert Advisors you rely on, MT4 remains an excellent choice. If you are starting fresh, want more timeframes, use automated strategies and value faster backtesting, or trade multiple asset classes, MT5 is the better long-term choice. GBH Markets recommends MT5 for new traders. You can run both simultaneously on the same account.
Can I use my MT4 Expert Advisors on MT5?
No. MT4 EAs written in MQL4 are not directly compatible with MT5's MQL5 language. They require rewriting or conversion. There are tools available that assist with conversion, but they rarely produce perfect results. Most popular commercial EAs have been rewritten for MQL5 and are available in the MetaQuotes marketplace. New EA development should be done in MQL5 for MT5 going forward.
What is Depth of Market and why does it matter?
Depth of Market (DOM) shows you the order book — the full list of all pending buy and sell orders at every price level with their volumes. For traders, DOM reveals: (1) where institutional orders are clustered, indicating strong support or resistance; (2) how much liquidity exists at current price levels; (3) potential slippage risks on large orders. DOM is a tool used by professional traders and is exclusively available on MT5 — not MT4.
Is MT5 free to download?
Yes, MetaTrader 5 is completely free to download and use with any GBH Markets live or demo account. There is no licence fee, subscription charge, or per-trade platform fee. The only costs involved are the spreads and commissions on your trades, which are clearly disclosed in our trading conditions.
How do I access the Economic Calendar in MT5?
In MT5, click "View" in the top menu → "Economic Calendar". A panel will appear showing upcoming economic events filtered by country, impact level, and date. You can also right-click on any chart and add the economic calendar as a visible overlay — events will appear directly on your chart at the time they occur, with forecast vs actual values shown on release.
Can I run MT4 and MT5 at the same time?
Yes. MT4 and MT5 are separate applications that run independently and can be open simultaneously on the same computer. GBH Markets provides separate server credentials for MT4 and MT5 — both connect to the same underlying account balance and positions. This means a trade opened on MT4 will also show on MT5 and vice versa.
Is MT5 available in Arabic on mobile?
Yes. The MT5 mobile app for iOS and Android supports Arabic language display. On iOS, the app will automatically detect your device language setting. On Android, you can set the language within the MT5 app settings. The mobile app includes full RTL layout support. Our Arabic-speaking support team can assist with any mobile MT5 setup via WhatsApp or live chat.
Does GBH Markets offer free VPS for MT5?
Yes.
