Margin Calculator
Calculate the exact margin required to open a position at GBH Markets. Enter your instrument, lot size, and leverage to see the required deposit.
Margin Calculation Results
Required Margin $216.00
Position Value $108,000
Margin % 0.20%
Effective Leverage 500:1
Pip Value (1 lot) $10.00
Instrument EUR/USD
* Results are indicative. Actual margin may vary with live price changes. Margin call at 80%, stop-out at 50% on all GBH accounts.
How Margin Works
Margin is the deposit required to open a leveraged position. It is not a fee — it is held as collateral and returned when you close the trade.
Margin = (Lots × Contract Size × Price) ÷ Leverage
GBH margin call level: 80%. Stop-out level: 50%. All retail accounts include negative balance protection.
Pip Value Calculator
Find the monetary value of 1 pip for any instrument at GBH Markets. Essential for calculating P&L and setting risk-appropriate position sizes.
Pip Value Results
Pip Value (your lot size) $10.00
Pip Value — Standard Lot (1.0) $10.00
Pip Value — Mini Lot (0.10) $1.00
Pip Value — Micro Lot (0.01) $0.10
Pip Definition 0.0001 (4 decimal)
* Pip values are in your account currency. On JPY pairs, 1 pip = 0.01. On Gold, 1 pip = $0.01/oz movement per lot. Values are based on current indicative prices.
What is a Pip?
A pip is the smallest standardised price movement. On EUR/USD, 1 pip = 0.0001. The pip value is what each 1-pip move is worth in your account currency — essential for position sizing and P&L calculation.
Pip Value = (Pip Size × Contract Size × Lots)
Knowing pip value before you trade means you can calculate exactly how much you risk per pip of adverse movement.
Profit & Loss Calculator
Calculate the profit or loss on any completed or hypothetical trade. Enter your entry price, exit price, and lot size to see exact results.
Profit & Loss Results
Net Profit / Loss +$500.00
Pips Gained / Lost +50.0 pips
Pip Value (your lot size) $10.00/pip
Trade Direction Long (Buy)
Entry Price 1.08500
Exit Price 1.09000
* Results exclude spread and commission costs. On Standard accounts, subtract the spread cost from gross P&L. On Pro/Prime, subtract commission ($6/$4 per lot round-turn).
How P&L is Calculated
P&L = (Exit − Entry) × Contract Size × Lots
For short (sell) trades, the formula is reversed — profit when exit is lower than entry. Remember to subtract the spread cost (Standard accounts) or commission ($6–$4/lot on Pro/Prime) from gross profit.
Swap / Overnight Fee Calculator
Calculate the overnight swap (rollover) charge or credit for holding a position past the daily close (00:00 server time). Zero on GBH Islamic accounts.

☪️ Islamic Accounts: All swap values shown become $0.00 — GBH Islamic accounts are completely swap-free with no replacement fees.

Swap Calculation Results
Total Swap Cost / Credit −$5.50
Daily Swap Rate −$5.50/night
Days Held 1 day
Triple Swap Day Wednesday
Islamic Account Swap $0.00 — Always
* Swap rates are indicative and change daily based on interbank interest rates. Triple swap applies on Wednesday for Forex/Metals (covers weekend rollover). Current live rates are visible in MT4/MT5 instrument properties.
About Swaps
Swaps (rollovers) reflect the interest rate differential between two currencies. Holding the higher-rate currency earns positive swap; holding the lower-rate currency costs negative swap. On GBH Islamic accounts, all swaps are zero with no replacement fees of any kind.
Position Size Calculator
The most important calculator for risk management. Enter your account balance, risk percentage, and stop-loss distance to find the correct lot size — never guess.
Position Size Results
Recommended Lot Size 0.33 lots
Risk Amount ($) $100.00
Risk % of Account 1.00%
Stop-Loss Distance 30 pips
Pip Value at This Size $3.33/pip
Account Balance $10,000
* Always use this calculator before entering any live trade. Never choose lot size by feel — always derive it from your maximum risk amount and stop-loss distance. The 1% rule: risk no more than 1% of your account per trade.
The 1% Rule — Position Sizing
Lots = Risk $ ÷ (Stop Pips × Pip Value)
This is the most important calculator for any disciplined trader. By calculating lot size from your risk parameters — not choosing it arbitrarily — you ensure every trade risks exactly what you intended regardless of instrument or stop-loss distance.
1
Set max risk: e.g. 1% of $10,000 = $100 maximum loss
2
Define stop-loss: e.g. 30 pips below a support level
3
Calculate size: $100 ÷ (30 × $10) = 0.33 lots

Calculator Tips

How to Use These Calculators
Like a Professional

🎯
Always Calculate Before Trading
Use the Position Size Calculator before every live trade — no exceptions. Entering a position without knowing your exact dollar risk is gambling, not trading.
📐
Margin Before Adding Positions
Before opening an additional position when you already have trades open, use the Margin Calculator to verify you have enough free margin — avoid unexpected stop-outs.
🌙
Check Swap Before Holding Overnight
Before leaving a trade open overnight (especially over the weekend), use the Swap Calculator to understand the carrying cost — or switch to a GBH Islamic account for zero swap.
💰
Plan Your Exit Before Entry
Use the P&L Calculator with your planned take-profit level to verify the risk-reward ratio before opening. A minimum 1:2 ratio is recommended — check it before you click execute.
📊
Know Your Pip Value
Use the Pip Value Calculator when trading instruments you don't regularly trade. Gold, indices, and exotic pairs have very different pip values — a 50-pip SL on Gold costs very differently to EUR/USD.
🛡
The 1% Rule is Non-Negotiable
The Position Size Calculator is built around the 1% risk rule — the single most important discipline in trading. Never exceed 2% risk per trade regardless of how confident the setup looks.
